India’s external affairs minister, S Jaishankar, has criticised the UK’s security arrangements following the recent attack on the Indian High Commission by pro-Khalistan supporters. Jaishankar stated that India will not accept differential standards of security and highlighted that it is the obligation of a receiving country to provide security for a diplomat to do their work. He further added that the UK failed to meet this obligation and did not ensure that the embassy or high commission premises were respected. Jaishankar also raised concerns about some countries not taking security seriously enough and emphasised that differential standards will not be accepted.
