On the occasion of the 116th birth anniversary of Babu Jagjivan Ram, K Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister, paid tribute to the freedom fighter, social reformer, and former Deputy Prime Minister. The CM described Jagjivan Ram as a great visionary who will forever remain in the political history of India as a freedom fighter, great politician, and a reformer who fought for social equality throughout his life. He added that Jagjivan Ram held many ministerial portfolios and made his mark in respective fields, laying a strong foundation for the country’s development.
KCR also highlighted Jagjivan Ram’s continuous struggles and labour movements for the upliftment of Dalits, backward classes, and oppressed communities for their rights. He noted that the Telangana government was implementing welfare and development programs for the upliftment of the poor, backward communities, tribal, and Dalit communities like never before in the country, with the spirit of Babuji.
The Chief Minister emphasized that Telangana was achieving surprising results in the country with various welfare schemes, including the implementation of ‘Dalit Bandhu’ and measures for the comprehensive development of socially and economically discriminated Dalit communities. He stated that the welfare schemes implemented by the government for Dalits were a role model for Dalit welfare and stood as an ideal for the country.
