In Hyderabad, PCC working president T Jagga Reddy challenged BJP MP Dr K Laxman’s doubts about the Congress party’s survival in the State. Reddy believes that Congress will survive until the next Assembly polls, contrary to what the BJP thinks. He compared the BJP to a snake on Shivling, saying that people fear it as long as it remains there, but once it leaves, people will not hesitate to get rid of it.
Speaking at Gandhi Bhavan, the former Sangareddy MLA stated that Congress, which won the people’s mandate in the Assembly polls, could increase its strength to 90 with the addition of BJP MLAs. However, Reddy dismissed Laxman’s predictions of a merger between BRS and Congress. He mentioned that many BRS and BJP MLAs are in contact and might join Congress soon. Reddy projected that around 20 BRS MLAs and 4 to 5 BJP MLAs could join Congress, strengthening the party.
Reddy highlighted that Congress and its leaders always kept their promises, unlike BJP leaders who he called deceivers. He criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not fulfilling his promises, such as providing two crore jobs to youth. Reddy reiterated his comparison of BJP to a snake on Shivling, explaining that once the snake is gone, people will not stay silent.
