YSR Congress Party president and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has raised questions about Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan’s understanding of Sanatan Dharma. Jagan criticised Pawan for allegedly supporting actions that undermine the sanctity of Lord Venkateswara.
Speaking at a media interaction at the YSR Congress Party office in Tadepalli, Jagan addressed the controversy surrounding the adulteration of the Tirumala laddu. The Supreme Court has called for a special SIT investigation into the matter.
Jagan accused Pawan Kalyan of being part of a conspiracy to damage the reputation of Tirumala. He questioned whether blindly defending a mistake could be considered Sanatan Dharma. Jagan also criticised Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, accusing him of lying about Tirumala and attempting to provoke religious sentiments. He pointed out that the Supreme Court had seen through Chandrababu’s actions.
Further, Jagan noted that the Supreme Court had questioned Chandrababu’s lack of evidence regarding his claims. The Court also asked why a second opinion was not sought by sending the ghee adulteration samples to another lab. According to Jagan, the Supreme Court found Chandrababu’s actions misleading and demanded explanations, yet Chandrababu didn’t seem concerned. Jagan insisted that Chandrababu should apologize to devotees and seek forgiveness at Tirumala.
Turning his attention back to Pawan Kalyan, Jagan questioned whether the Deputy Chief Minister even understood what Sanatan Dharma truly meant. He accused Pawan of defending Chandrababu without considering the implications. Jagan called this behavior hypocritical, saying that failing to stop wrongdoing while speaking about dharma was unacceptable. He warned that those who misuse Lord Venkateswara’s name would face severe consequences.
Jagan also expressed his belief that an investigation was unnecessary if no wrongdoing had occurred. He criticized the demand for inquiries into something that he claimed never happened and expressed frustration with what he called false narratives. He ended by stating that Lord Venkateswara himself would bring justice to anyone spreading false information.
