YSR Congress Party president and former chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is confident that his party will come back to power in the next elections. Speaking at a meeting of YSRCP leaders in Tadepalli, Jagan expressed surprise at the results of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, comparing it to the unpredictability of Shakuni’s dice.
Jagan reassured party activists and supporters that he would support them and stand by those who have been loyal to the party. Despite a setback in the recent elections, where the YSR Congress Party received 40% of the votes, Jagan highlighted the party’s strong voter base and attributed the loss to deceptive tactics from opponents like Chandrababu Naidu.
The former chief minister outlined plans to reconnect with the public and strengthen the party’s grassroots presence, promising to continue fighting for the people’s concerns despite having fewer numbers in the assembly. He criticized the TDP Government for failing to implement important welfare schemes.
Jagan detailed his government’s achievements, including distributing Rs 2.7 lakh crore through Direct Benefit Transfer, providing support to mothers and farmers, and introducing reforms in education, healthcare, and agriculture. He emphasized steps taken for women’s empowerment and land reforms, highlighting the unprecedented changes made despite challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic.
Encouraging his supporters to remain hopeful and resilient, Jagan urged them to remove feelings of defeat from their minds and focus on the positive impact they have made in people’s lives. He expressed confidence that the party would win with a record majority in the future elections.
