    Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy garlanded the bronze statue of BR Ambedkar in Suryapet on Friday to honor his legacy. Ambedkar is a symbol of knowledge and intelligence, and his Constitution is a safeguard for the country. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has named the Telangana Secretariat after Ambedkar and installed a 125-foot-tall statue of him in the heart of the capital to keep his spirit alive.

    The real tribute to Baba Saheb is to implement his ideas. Ambedkar’s commitment to economic and social equality is the backbone of democracy. To honor his memory, Minister Reddy felicitated public sector employees who have rendered the best services and handed over certificates of appreciation.

    The event was attended by Additional Collector Hemant Keshav Patil, Zilla Parishad Vice Chairman Gopagani Venkat Narayana Goud, district Library Chairman Nimmala Srinivas Goud, Municipal Chairman Perumala Annapoornamma, Chivvemla MPP Kumari Babu Naik, ZPTC Sanjeeva Naik, Councilors Jyoti Sri Vidya and others.

    In addition to Suryapet, Dr Ambedkar Jayanthi was celebrated in a grand manner in erstwhile Nalgonda district. The day was marked by garlanding statues and pictures of Ambedkar, blood donation camps, community lunches, and rallies.
