In Hyderabad’s IT corridor, voter turnout is traditionally low during elections. However, IT sector employees are emphasizing the importance of implementing Labour laws in IT companies. Many employees feel that the government should bring the entire IT industry under the Minimum Wages Act and enforce Labour laws. They want to vote for a party committed to employee development.
Raghava Kumar, an IT employee, expressed frustration with politicians’ unfulfilled promises and the neglect of the IT sector. He believes that bringing the entire IT sector under the Minimum Wage Act and implementing Labour laws is crucial. He also highlighted the lack of a dedicated grievance redressal mechanism in organizations.
Sai Teja, another employee, pointed out issues such as improper termination practices and inadequate leave policies in companies. He mentioned violations of labor laws regarding working hours and overtime pay. Teja emphasized that implementing Labour laws would benefit employees in various ways and ensure their rights are protected.
