Hyderabad: The two-day conference ‘AI Days-2024’ aims to establish Hyderabad as the global capital of Artificial Intelligence (AI), according to Jayesh Ranjan, State Principal Secretary of Industries & Commerce (I&C) and Information Technology (IT).
During the closing ceremony of the conference hosted by Swecha, a non-profit organization with a theme of AI for society, Ranjan highlighted the growing importance of AI worldwide. Telangana has been an early adopter of AI technology, particularly in government usage, with a focus on tools for agriculture.
The State government is prioritizing AI-enabled solutions in agriculture and has established an agriculture data exchange to provide relevant data sets. Over the past four years, 25 AI-enabled solutions have been implemented by the government.
Ranjan also announced that Telangana will host a two-day AI Global Summit on July 8 and 9 this year. Meanwhile, Swecha founder Y Kiran Chandra revealed plans to establish a center for people-centric AI at IIIT-Hyderabad.
Throughout the conference, experts from various industries discussed the potential of AI and machine learning (ML) in developing home-grown solutions to address challenges in technology, science, healthcare, finance, media, and other sectors.
