The Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, K T Rama Rao, announced that the BRS government has achieved top status as a destination for technology investments. IT exports reached Rs 57,707 crore in one year, surpassing the total exports of the previous 27 years. This growth reflects the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. Telangana has experienced four times the growth of other states and has generated 44% of the employment in the IT industry. According to NASSCOM, Telangana achieved a 33% employment growth rate in the past year alone.
Hyderabad has attracted many multinational companies for investment, resulting in the creation of over 600,000 jobs. For every direct job in the IT sector, four indirect jobs are created. The stable government and strong leadership have contributed to this success.
The government has also prioritized the development of Tier-II cities, with entrepreneurs establishing companies and creating job opportunities in places like Bellampally. IT hubs are being built in other cities as well, spreading progress across the state.
In response to a question about the provision in parts of Old City, KTR mentioned that a 12-acre land has been identified and tenders are being finalized for setting up a facility in Malakpet. Several companies have shown interest and are in the process of signing MoUs. An announcement will be made once the agreements are finalized.
