The Income Tax Department has sent notices to several famous temples in Telangana, including Komuravelli Mallanna Swamy. These temples have been asked to pay income tax. Komuravelli Mallanna Swamy is required to pay Rs. 8 crores in taxes, and an additional Rs. 3 crores as a fine for late payment, according to the notices.

Other temples, such as Vemulawada Rajanna and Saraswati Ammavari Temple in Basara, have also received similar notices. Many devotees are surprised by this development and believe that temples should not be treated as strictly as businesses and individuals when it comes to taxes.
