Farmers from the Kodangal area are worried about losing their land. On Friday, they went to meet KT Rama Rao, a leader from the BRS party, at Telangana Bhavan. These farmers, from Daulatabad mandal, said they are being pressured to give up around 3,000 acres of land in the villages of Hakimpet, Polepalli, and Lakacharla.
Mahipal Mudiraj, along with former Kodangal MLA Patnam Narender Reddy, was among those who met with KTR. The farmers expressed that they do not want factories in their area. They claimed that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s brother, Tirupati Reddy, is threatening them to surrender their lands for industrial purposes. They are worried that setting up pharma factories will pollute their environment.
The farmers urged KTR to support them in keeping their land. They argued that the government is trying to take away valuable land that is crucial for their livelihood, which relies on farming. Losing this land would significantly impact their families. KTR assured them that he would support them in their fight to keep their land.
