District Collector B.M. Santhosh recently reviewed the Nettempadu project with irrigation department officials. He emphasized that all work in the resettlement centers for displaced villagers affected by the project must be completed on time. Santhosh directed officials to ensure the construction of necessary facilities like schools, community halls, and childcare centers in line with regulations.
During a meeting at the IDOC conference hall, Santhosh discussed various aspects of irrigation projects in the district with engineering officials. He inquired about the progress of reservoir projects under the Nettempadu lift scheme, land acquisition status, and water utilization through schemes like the Rajolibanda Diversion Scheme and Tummilla reservoirs.
Officials presented details on irrigation activities in the district, including plans to harness floodwaters during the monsoon season through projects like the Priyadarshini Jurala Project. The meeting also covered potential improvements to current irrigation practices, with the collector examining geographical maps and discussing bridge construction at Gurram gadda village on the Krishna River.
The gathering included Water Drainage Department SE Srinivasa Rao, EEs Rahimuddin, Venkateswara Rao, Zubair Ahmed, Vijay Kumar Reddy, DEs, and other officials who contributed to the comprehensive discussion on irrigation projects in the region.
