Mahabubnagar: Jadcherla MLA Janampalli Anirudh Reddy has announced that a committee of four officials has confirmed serious irregularities in Survey No. 118/P in Balanagar. According to the report, 1.67 lakh tonnes of soil were illegally brought into the area. Additionally, a pond was filled in and redirected, and a nearby cemetery was destroyed.

The investigation was launched after MLA Reddy filed a complaint against a company named ‘Shri Varahi Infra and Developers.’ The inquiry was carried out by a four-member committee, which included Mahbubnagar RDO E. Naveen, Irrigation EE CH Uday Shankar, Survey Land Records AD S. Krishna Rao, and DD Mines K. Narasimha Reddy. These officials visited the site in May and spoke to local farmers and villagers.

The committee’s findings revealed that a canal leading to a large pond had been blocked. This caused flooding in the surrounding fields, damaging crops in the area. They also discovered that a 2.20-acre cemetery had been destroyed due to the development work.

Speaking to the media on Saturday in Balanagar mandal, MLA Reddy expressed his frustration with the authorities for allowing these illegal activities. He questioned how permissions were granted despite the presence of the canal and demanded that those involved be held accountable. He also said he plans to file a complaint with the Chief Secretary.
