    The School of Law at Mahindra University is hosting a workshop and conference focused on the intersection of ‘Data Governance and Artificial Intelligence’ and the challenges and opportunities presented by ‘Revolutionary Technologies and Evolving Laws’. The workshop is set to take place on February 29, and the conference will be held on March 1 and 2 in a hybrid mode.

    Dean of the School of Law, Professor Balakista Reddy, emphasized the importance of considering the ethical and societal implications of technological advancements. He highlighted how technologies like artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, cybersecurity, digital media, and communications are changing the way we live and work.

    During the COVID-19 pandemic, technology and law worked together to create new normalcy in using technology, such as e-classrooms, e-courts, and telemedicine. The evolving landscape of technology will continue to shape society in unpredictable ways, offering both opportunities for progress and risks.

    The convergence of computing power, connectivity, and data has led to the development of technologies that can both benefit and harm society. The legal system must evolve alongside technology to address issues related to ethics, law, and policy.

    Renowned lawyers, industry experts, judges, and academicians from around the world are participating in the events. They will discuss topics such as data security, State sovereignty, AI ethics, and the definition of AI.

    The workshop and conference aim to bridge the gap between law and technology by providing a platform for discussion and bringing together legal and technological perspectives.
