A cyclone called Biparjoy is getting stronger and heading towards the Saurashtra coast in Gujarat. The government has closed beaches and is telling people who live along the coast to be careful. The Disaster Management Division and the National Emergency Response Centre have also given advice to the Gujarat government. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that there will be heavy rain in some areas of Gujarat for two days and that the cyclone will probably hit land on June 15. Sea conditions will be rough for the next three days, and there will be strong winds on Sunday, but they will get weaker after that.
On Saturday, there were thundershowers and strong winds in Jamnagar city. The government has closed some popular beaches and officials are telling people who work in fishing harbours to be ready to move to a safer place if the cyclone gets closer. IMD has also issued a wind warning until June 15.
