Hyderabad: The investigation into the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP) started again today. The Kaleshwaram Commission will question a number of engineers and bureaucrats in the next few days.
The commission has asked officials to call in the necessary people to help explain different parts of the project. They want to get a clear understanding of how the project has been managed.
The inquiry will happen in two phases. During this time, public hearings will also take place. The main focus of the investigation is on how the project was carried out, how money was spent, and the engineering decisions made.
The Kaleshwaram project is one of the biggest irrigation projects in India. However, it has faced criticism because of allegations that there were irregularities and the costs went up too much. The commission will look closely at these concerns, starting with today’s hearings. More information will be shared as the inquiry continues in the coming days.
