Housing Minister Announces Progress on Indiramma Indlu Scheme

Hyderabad: Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy shared updates on the progress of the Indiramma Indlu housing scheme. He announced that 95% of the scrutiny for Phase-I applications has been completed in districts, while 88% has been completed within the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits. Under this scheme, eligible families identified as part of the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category will receive financial assistance of ₹5 lakh to construct new houses on their own land.

The Minister launched an official website for the scheme, https://indirammaindlu.telangana.gov.in/, on Thursday at the Secretariat. He explained that the portal is designed to increase transparency and address grievances effectively. Once an application is submitted online, the information will be sent to the Mandal Parishad Development Officer (MPDO) in villages or the Municipal Commissioner in cities. Applicants will receive regular updates via SMS and can also track the status of their grievances online.

To ensure fairness, the Minister emphasized that the government is taking measures to prevent the involvement of middlemen. He also assured that those who are not covered under Phase-I of the scheme will not be left out. Families without land will be provided housing units in later phases of the Indiramma Indlu initiative. For Phase-I, the focus is on providing ₹5 lakh assistance to the poorest families. In subsequent phases, the government plans to deliver 4.5 lakh housing units to other underprivileged groups.
