Khammam: District Collector Muzammil Khan stressed the goal of increasing milk production at Indira Dairy to 3 lakh liters per day. This was discussed during a review meeting at the Khammam Collectorate on Thursday. The meeting was attended by officials, including Additional Collector Dr. P Sreeja, and representatives from various departments.

Khan emphasized the need for a detailed plan to manage the dairy’s operations. This plan should cover everything from milk production and collection to transportation, ensuring effective marketing. He also noted that people with experience in buffalo breeding and proper facilities, such as sheds and fodder, should be given priority when setting up additional dairy units.

To help expand the dairy, 8 to 10 new milk collection centers will be established in the Madhira constituency. Roads and other necessary infrastructure will be developed to support transportation. Additionally, renovation work on a 5,000-liter capacity chilling unit will be sped up to ensure proper milk storage and processing.
