On the first day of his visit to YSR District, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several projects in YSR Kadapa district. One of the projects was the inauguration of a plywood-panels manufacturing unit called Centuryply Panels Limited, which is worth Rs 1,000 crore. The company has provided employment to 2,266 people and indirect employment to many farmers and others.

After inaugurating the MDF and HPL units in the campus, YS Jagan had a casual interaction with the company chairman, officials, and staff members. He mentioned that this unit is another milestone in the industrial growth of the district. The Century industrial unit, for which the foundation stone was laid two years ago, is ready to start commercial production. It is established on 100 acres of land given on a 33-year lease. The company manufactures plywood panels from Jam Oil wood, which is grown by 25,000 farmers in an area of 80,000 acres. The company has made agreements with farmers for the cultivation of Jam Oil trees and provided saplings at a subsidy.
