The Chief Minister-designate A Revanth Reddy is a man of sentiments and believes in vastu, just like his predecessor. Before starting any important work, he visits Peddamma Temple and Nampally Dargah to offer prayers. On Thursday, he will first offer prayers at the temple, then garland the statue of Indira Gandhi at Khairtabad on his way to Nampally Dargah, and finally go to LB Stadium.
During the swearing-in ceremony, Revanth will sign the first file to implement the six guarantees promised by the Congress during the poll campaign. He will also sign a file to provide government jobs to a young unemployed graduate from Nampally who is among the invitees. The stadium has a capacity of 35,000, but the party is expecting almost twice that number of people. As a result, strict traffic restrictions have been imposed around the stadium. Some of Revanth’s admirers from Andhra Pradesh have also come to witness the ceremony.
After the ceremony, Revanth will go straight to the Secretariat and take charge on the sixth floor where the Chief Minister’s Office is located. In May of this year, Revanth had faced difficulties when he went to the Secretariat to file an RTI application. He was stopped by the police and asked to make an appointment. He later alleged that the state government had given a tender to a Mumbai-based company for toll tax collection on the Outer Ring Road at a very low price.
Once in office, Revanth will sign the first file related to women empowerment. He will spend time in the Secretariat until 5 pm and visit all the departments in the building. The employees of the Secretariat are celebrating as all restrictions have been lifted. They are hopeful that under the new government, they will be able to meet with ministers or secretaries without any restrictions or surveillance regarding departmental issues.
