Union Minister G Kishan Reddy reported that the Modi government has contributed about Rs 10 lakh crore for the development of Telangana in the last 10 years. This amount includes various funds and investments in infrastructure projects, welfare programs, and efforts towards farmer welfare.
He mentioned the construction of national highways, railway lines, the Rail Manufacturing Unit in Kazipet, the PM Mitra Textiles Park in Warangal, a fertiliser factory in Ramagundam, a power plant, the Hyderabad Metro, and various educational institutions like the Sri Konda Laxman Telangana Horticultural University and the Sammakka Saralamma Central Tribal University.
Reddy also talked about the National Research and Biomedical National Animal Resource Facility for Biomedical Research, efforts to provide medicines at cost-effective prices, and distribution of free rice under PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana. Farmers were provided with fertiliser subsidy and financial assistance through PM-KISAN.
On the cultural front, steps were taken to establish museums, temples, and tourism circuits. Reddy highlighted his success in securing UNESCO World Heritage status for Ramappa and UNWTO Best Tourism Village status for Pochampally.
He mentioned his role in bringing the Sangeet Natak Akademi’s first South India Regional Centre to Hyderabad, setting up cultural institutions, and organizing various events like the Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav and Hyderabad Liberation Day celebrations.
Reddy also mentioned his efforts to communicate with the former CM about issues related to State development, despite not receiving expected support from the government.
