Congress general secretary K C Venugopal is set to hold a meeting with Lok Sabha candidates in Telangana ahead of the Phase-IV polls. The focus of the meeting will be on garnering support from party workers for all candidates, including those who recently joined the party.
The AICC leadership is taking stock of the situation in Telangana and planning to streamline efforts from the grassroots level to the Pradesh Congress Committee level. This includes deciding on campaign strategies, bringing in star campaigners, improving coordination between party wings, and ensuring maximum support for every candidate.
The meeting will take place at a hotel in Shamshabad and will be attended by Lok Sabha incharge Ministers, CM A Revanth Reddy, Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, and party candidates. Feedback from the state has highlighted a lack of determination and enthusiasm among some leaders, particularly those working with ‘parachute candidates’. The AICC leadership aims to strengthen bonds within the party ranks and ensure better distribution of election materials and manifesto copies.
Following the success of a recent rally attended by Rahul Gandhi, more AICC leaders, including Priyanka Gandhi and AICC chief Mallikarjun Kharge, may be invited to campaign in Telangana. Rahul Gandhi is expected to address multiple locations in the state, while Priyanka Gandhi and Kharge are likely to address specific towns. Plans for road shows, corner meetings, and public gatherings will also be discussed at the upcoming meeting.
