The India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Hyderabad has predicted a break in rainfall, which will likely lead to higher temperatures in the city. The Weather Department forecasts a partly cloudy sky over the next three days for Hyderabad, with no rainfall expected until May 23. However, other districts in Telangana may experience some rain during this time.
From May 22 to 24, several districts in Telangana could see thunderstorms, lightning, and squalls, as per the yellow alert issued by the IMD Hyderabad. Weather expert T Balaji suggests that a summer heatwave may begin in Telangana, with temperatures possibly reaching 45 degrees Celsius. In Hyderabad, temperatures are expected to range from 41–42 degrees Celsius. The summer season is expected to gradually ease off by the first week of June with the arrival of regular rainfall.
The IMD previously predicted that the monsoon is likely to reach Telangana districts, including Hyderabad, after June 6. It is also anticipated that the monsoon will arrive in the South Andaman Sea on May 19, with Kerala expected to experience monsoon conditions around May 31.
