A new Commissioner has taken charge at the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). K Ilambarithi, an IAS officer from the 2005 batch, officially became the Commissioner on Thursday. This happened after the State government issued orders on Wednesday night, assigning him additional duties for the GHMC.
Ilambarithi takes over from Amrapali, the previous GHMC Commissioner, who has now been transferred to Andhra Pradesh. Ilambarithi was given Full Additional Charge (FAC) of the GHMC Commissioner role. Before this, he was working as the Transport Commissioner.
Several officials were present when Ilambarithi took over. These included zonal commissioners Hemanth Keshav Patil, Anurag Jayanthi, Apoorva Chauhan, deputy zonal commissioners, and other officers.
