The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Monitoring and Protection Agency (HYDRAA) has issued a stern warning against illegal money collections being carried out in the name of Ameenpur Pedda Cheruvu Full Tank Level (FTL) demarcation. HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath has expressed serious concern over reports of unauthorized individuals extorting money under the pretense of helping flood-affected plot owners.
Fake JAC Involved in Illegal Collections
HYDRAA received multiple complaints stating that a group claiming to be the Joint Action Committee (JAC) for Ameenpur Pedda Cheruvu flood victims has been illegally collecting money from affected plot owners. Complainants have provided receipts and WhatsApp messages as evidence, showing that some individuals were demanding:
- ₹1,000 for JAC membership
- ₹500 per square yard for “government adjustments”
A person identified as Nanduri Satyanarayana has allegedly been presenting himself as the JAC Chairman, issuing receipts, and misleading plot owners into paying money for “settlements” with government departments.
HYDRAA Commissioner’s Stern Warning
HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath has warned that strict legal action will be taken against those involved in these fraudulent activities. He clarified that the FTL demarcation process is being conducted by HYDRAA in coordination with government agencies, and no individual or organization has the authority to collect money for approvals or adjustments.
HYDRAA has also directed victims to file complaints at local police stations, and the agency itself will be initiating legal action against the accused.
FTL Demarcation to Be Completed Transparently
The Ameenpur Pedda Cheruvu FTL demarcation process is being conducted with scientific accuracy, involving:
- Village records & Survey of India maps
- Satellite images from the National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC)
- Technical analysis by JNTU & IIT experts
Officials have assured that the process will be completed within 2-3 months, with full transparency and no room for manipulation.
Public Advised to Stay Cautious
The commissioner has urged the public to stay vigilant and not fall prey to fraudsters. He reiterated that flood-affected plot owners do not need to pay anyone for legal protection or government approvals.
