HYDRAA Removes Illegal Constructions to Clear Roads in Hyderabad
The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) carried out a major operation on Wednesday to remove illegal structures blocking important roads in the city. This effort aimed to restore public access and prevent unauthorized constructions.
One of the key areas targeted was Kapra, where a compound wall enclosing the NRI Colony was demolished. This action reopened the road for four nearby colonies: Senior Citizen Colony, Shanti Ville, Lakshmi Villas, Gourinatha Puram, and Vampuguda. As a result, traffic congestion has reduced, and residents now have better connectivity.
In Rallaguda village of Shamshabad mandal, another compound wall was removed, restoring access to the Outer Ring Road, a crucial route for commuters. Similarly, in Sainikpuri, a 50-meter wall that had been blocking the Army Officers Colony was also taken down.
HYDRAA also acted on complaints from residents in Defence Colony. A plot of 1,200 square yards, originally meant for public use, had been illegally divided and sold as private plots. Officials discovered that the land had been split into five sections, with some already sold. In response, HYDRAA demolished the encroachments and installed signboards identifying the area as Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) land.
This operation highlights HYDRAA’s commitment to protecting public spaces and ensuring that roads remain open and accessible for all citizens.
