Hyderabad:
The Commissioner of the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRA), AV Ranganath, has clarified that HYDRA will not demolish any buildings that were constructed with proper permissions. He reassured people that if they have the necessary approvals for their buildings, they have nothing to worry about.
Ranganath addressed rumors that HYDRA is planning to bring down structures near ponds, even if they had permission. He denied these claims, calling them baseless. He also emphasized that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had already made it clear that only unauthorized buildings would be demolished. HYDRA will follow the Chief Minister’s directives.
On the other hand, the government is taking strict action against those who have encroached on the catchment areas of the Musi River, as well as ponds and canals in the state. There have been rumors that more people could lose their homes due to HYDRA’s actions, which has caused fear among the public. Leaders of the ruling Congress party have refuted these claims, saying they were false allegations made by the opposition.
