Hyderabad: On Sunday, the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection (HYDRA) took strong action against illegal constructions around Gandipet. Equipped with men and machinery, HYDRA teams started demolishing unauthorized buildings in Khanapur that were built in violation of rules and regulations.

The demolition began in the morning, and while some building owners tried to stop the process, their resistance led to heated arguments with the HYDRA teams. Despite the opposition, the teams, supported by the police, continued with the demolition as planned.
According to reports, these buildings were constructed on Gandipet Full Tank Level (FTL) land, which is an area prone to flooding. A few years ago, during heavy rains, this area was completely surrounded by water, making it a risky location for construction.
