HYDERABAD: HYDRA Commissioner Ranganath has made important statements about demolitions and illegal constructions. He announced that strict action will be taken against structures built illegally after the establishment of HYDRA. These remarks were made after he inspected Kamuni Cheruvu and Maisamma Cheruvu in Kukatpally, followed by a media briefing.
The Commissioner clarified that buildings constructed before HYDRA’s formation would not be affected. He dismissed rumors and false propaganda, stating that only illegal constructions built after July will face demolition.
Ranganath also mentioned that permits recently issued under HYDRA would be carefully reviewed. If any irregularities are found, the respective constructions will be stopped immediately. He underlined HYDRA’s commitment to protecting lakes and following government policies for sustainable development.
The Commissioner urged the public not to believe false claims suggesting that HYDRA targets homes belonging to marginalized communities. He assured that HYDRA does not intend to trouble the poor and dismissed rumors about demolishing their houses.
Lastly, Ranganath emphasized that HYDRA’s primary goal is to maintain ecological balance and promote systematic development in the city. He called for public support to achieve these objectives.
