The water levels in the Himayat Sagar and Osman Sagar reservoirs near Hyderabad are rising due to heavy rainfall in the area. To prevent flooding and ensure public safety, authorities have opened four gates of the Himayat Sagar reservoir to release excess water. Currently, 2750 cusecs of water is being discharged from the reservoir, while 1500 cusecs of water is flowing into it. The water level is just one foot below its full capacity of 1763.50 feet. Similarly, the Osman Sagar reservoir is also experiencing an inflow of 100 cusecs of water and its water level has reached 1785.85 feet, with a full capacity of 1790 feet.

To prevent any accidents or flooding, the service road from Himayat Nagar to Rajendra Nagar has been closed. Barricades have been placed on both sides of the road to restrict vehicular movement. Residents living in low-lying areas near the reservoirs are advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions. They should avoid going near the reservoirs or crossing flooded areas for their own safety.

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) and disaster response teams are closely monitoring the situation and are ready to respond to any emergency. They are working together with local authorities to manage the water releases and ensure public safety.
