Auto drivers’ associations in Hyderabad have called for a strike of autos to demand justice and government support for the drivers affected by the Mahalakshmi scheme. They want a welfare board for transport sector workers and have threatened to go on strike if their demands are not met.
The Telangana Motor Transport Vehicle Joint Action Committee has issued a strike notice to the Transport Commissioner regarding the auto strike. They have planned a large auto rally from Sundarayya Vignana Kendra to Narayanguda Chowrasta at 10 am.
They have also warned that if their issues are not resolved, they will escalate the strike in the future.
