GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd. (GHIAL) has launched direct flights between Hyderabad and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. These flights are operated by VietJet. The first flight took off on Wednesday, with officials from GHIAL, VietJet, and other stakeholders present at the event.
The new service will run twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The flight duration is approximately 4 hours and 35 minutes.
– Flight from Ho Chi Minh to Hyderabad (VJ-1803): Departs at 7:40 PM and arrives at 10:35 PM.
– Flight from Hyderabad to Ho Chi Minh (VJ-1804): Departs at 11:35 PM and arrives at 5:30 AM the next day.
GHIAL CEO Pradeep Panicker emphasized that this new route will strengthen Hyderabad’s international connections. He believes it will boost tourism and trade between India and Vietnam. He also reaffirmed GHIAL’s commitment to making Hyderabad a major global travel hub.
VietJet Vice President Do Xuan Quang called India an important market for the airline. He highlighted Hyderabad’s key role in South India and said the airline aims to improve economic and cultural exchanges between the two regions.
This direct route is expected to attract more Indian tourists to Vietnam, a country known for its beautiful beaches and rich cultural heritage.
