The government issued guidelines on Thursday for Revenue Department officials to resolve Dharani related issues. Officials have been instructed to clear all pending applications in a special drive from March 1 to 9, with around 2.45 lakh applications expected to be cleared by March 9.
District collectors were told to form teams in every Tahsildar office to scrutinize pending applications, conduct field inspections, and prepare reports. These teams will include various revenue functionaries, paralegals, community surveyors, agriculture extension officers, and panchayat secretaries.
Applicants will receive regular updates from the teams through village-level officers or communication channels like WhatsApp, phone calls, or SMS. Officials will verify land records and conduct field visits to physically verify the land and gather necessary information for each application.
Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy stated that there are still 2.45 lakh pending applications and urged people to take advantage of the opportunity to resolve their issues during the nine-day special drive. He criticized the Dharani portal for causing hardships and promised a complete revamp of the scheme.
A ‘White Paper’ on Dharani is expected to be released after the completion of the drive, with the chairman of the Dharani panel indicating that it could be presented in over a week.
