Hyderabad: Starting from October 6, the L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad Limited (L&TMRHL) will introduce a parking fee at two metro stations, Nagole and Miyapur. The fee will be a small, nominal amount.

Metro officials have shared that these parking areas will come with several amenities for passenger comfort and safety. There will be separate parking spaces for two-wheelers and four-wheelers. Some of the services include bio-toilets, proper lighting for the evening, 24/7 security, and CCTV coverage. Passengers can also make payments easily through an app or QR code. Additionally, there will be clean drinking water, lane identification for easier parking, and designated spaces for women, senior citizens, and differently-abled people. Emergency contact details like the nearest hospital, police station, and fire station will also be displayed.

Earlier, there were plans to introduce parking fees last month, but these were delayed after protests from regular passengers. Now, the parking fee will be kept affordable for both two- and four-wheelers.

In addition, L&TMRHL has announced the extension of some popular customer offers until March 31 of next year. These offers include the Super Saver Offer-59, which allows unlimited travel for just Rs. 59 on listed holidays. There is also a student pass where students pay for 20 trips and receive 30 trips. Another offer is the Super Saver Off-Peak Offer, which gives a 10% discount on Contactless Smart Cards (CSCs) during off-peak hours.

He added that by focusing on affordability, convenience, and accessibility, they aim to create a more sustainable and efficient transportation system in Hyderabad.
