Ahead of Dussehra, there were a lot of people traveling at railway stations, bus stations, and in the suburbs of Hyderabad. Trains and buses going from Hyderabad to different places were crowded, so many people decided to use their own vehicles instead. The Saddula Bathukamma celebration on Sunday and Dussehra on Monday caused many people to go back to their hometowns.

The Mahatma Gandhi and Jubilee bus stations had a lot of traffic as passengers traveled to different parts of Telugu states. Buses from Uppal, LB Nagar, Mehidipatnam, and other areas to the districts were also very crowded.

To handle the large number of Dussehra travelers, the Road Transport Corporation (RTC) arranged for more than 5,250 buses. This included over 1,700 extra buses on top of the usual daily fleet of 3,500 buses. The rush of passengers was expected to continue for three more days.

Railway stations like Nampally, Secunderabad, and Kachiguda were also congested because the trains going to different places were full. Since reservations for regular trains were already booked in advance, many passengers had to use general coaches, which made even the regular coaches for long-distance trips full.

To accommodate the increased number of passengers, South Central Railway added about 600 extra services until Sankranti. Special trains were organized on routes with high passenger traffic, including Hyderabad to Kakinada, Narsapur, Tirupati, Kurnool, Visakha, Bhubaneswar, and other places.
