The Telangana State Haj Committee has prepared for Haj 2023 by organising a Coordination Committee meeting to improve services for pilgrims. The meeting aimed to make arrangements for the smooth departure and arrival of pilgrims from Hyderabad Embarkation Point and to ensure the success of Haj camp 2023. The Advisor to Government, Minorities Welfare, A K Khan, moved the agenda items and asked for cooperation from all departments. The Chairman of TSHC, Mohammed Saleem, requested that GMR provide enough services to the pilgrims at the Haj Terminal. The Haj committee received 8,659 applications this year, with 5,278 applicants selected through a draw of lots.
Around 7,000 pilgrims from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Maharashtra will be embarking from RGIA from June 7, and the Haj camp will begin from June 5. The pilgrimage expenses have been reduced from Rs 4.11 lakh to Rs 3.05 lakh this year. Three flights will operate daily, sending a total of 350 pilgrims each day. Vistara Airlines has been approved for the Hyderabad Embarkation Point. Food arrangements for pilgrims and their attendants will be made at the Haj Camp in Haj House.
The meeting was attended by Minister Koppula Eshwar, government advisors, corporation chairpersons, and senior officials from various departments associated with Haj services.
