In a quick and efficient operation, the Commissioner’s Task Force, North Zone Team, along with the Market Police, arrested two people for allegedly stealing ₹30 lakh. The money was meant for a local gold refining shop called Jyothirling Refinery. A case has been registered at the Market Police Station under several sections of the Indian Penal Code.
The two suspects have been identified as Rohan Kadam, 20, and Muzammil Baligar, 21. Both are originally from Kindavadi in Satara, Maharashtra, but they were staying in Secunderabad. The police were able to recover ₹29.92 lakh, a Maruti Swift car (with registration number MH-11 DN 5500), and two mobile phones. The total value of the recovered items is around ₹35 lakh.
The incident started on October 3. The owner of Jyothirling Refinery gave Rohan Kadam 400 grams of gold to deliver to S.M. Jewellery in Secunderabad. Kadam was supposed to return with the cash, but he didn’t. Instead, he and his group, including two other individuals who are still on the run, took the money and fled Hyderabad in the car.
Thanks to the quick response from the Commissioner’s Task Force and Market Police, Kadam and Baligar were caught within 24 hours. The operation was led by Inspector K. Saidulu and his team, along with Inspector P. Raghavender from the Market Police Station.
Following the incident, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Task Force, Y.V.S. Sudheendra, advised business owners, especially in the jewellery industry, to be careful when hiring workers. He urged them to make sure employees are trustworthy and have proper identification, such as Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, or driving licenses.
The investigation is still ongoing, and the police are continuing their search for the remaining accomplices.
