Women’s Day Run Held in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: A special running event, Run for Action-2025, was held at People’s Plaza on Saturday to celebrate Women’s Day. The event was organised in partnership with the Hyderabad Police.
Minister for Panchayat Raj, Seethakka, attended the event, which attracted a large number of participants in both 5k and 2k run competitions. Other notable attendees included MLC Balmuri Venkat, Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand, Additional CP Vikram Mann, Additional CP (Crimes) Vishwa Prasad, and several DCPs.
During her speech, Minister Seethakka highlighted the importance of gender equality. She stressed that men and women are equally capable and should be treated the same in all aspects of life.
She also spoke about the negative impact of alcoholism in society. “Alcoholism is harming our lives and dignity. We must raise awareness and strive for a drug-free society. Everyone should contribute to protecting and uplifting women. Let us work together to empower them,” she said.
Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand praised Minister Seethakka for her strength and determination. He noted that she has become a role model, rising from humble beginnings to achieve great success.
