Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand has highlighted the important role of the Special Branch in maintaining law and order. He emphasized that the responsibilities of the Special Branch personnel should be supported and not undervalued.

On Friday, Commissioner Anand held a review meeting at the Integrated Command Control Center. This meeting was attended by authorities and staff from the seven zones of the Special Branch under the Hyderabad Commissionerate.

During the meeting, the commissioner mentioned that the decisions made by higher officials depend largely on the intelligence provided by the Special Branch. He urged the personnel to stay alert and focus on gathering information directly from the field.

C.V. Anand also pointed out that the Special Branch is a key part of the Hyderabad City Police. He addressed a misconception that working in the Special Branch is seen by some as a punishment. He asked the officers to change this view and approach their work with dedication. The commissioner stated that the experience and skills gained in the Special Branch would be helpful throughout their careers.

In addition, Anand suggested keeping an eye on individuals coming from other areas. He recommended setting up reliable sources of information, especially from hotels and local communities where these visitors stay. He stressed that any new arrivals who seem suspicious should be reported immediately.

The commissioner also advised local police officers to be aware of everything happening within their areas. By staying proactive, the officers can quickly address any issues before they become bigger problems. He noted that officers moving into the Special Branch from other departments should receive special training to succeed in their new roles.

C.V. Anand further emphasized the importance of conducting passport verifications honestly and without any illegal actions. This, he said, would improve the image of the police department. He urged the Special Branch staff to remain neutral in their duties and to act decisively when needed. Finally, he encouraged them to prioritize truth in all situations, following the principle of “Truth At Any Cost.”
