Hyderabad Metro Phase 2 to Add Six New Stations on LB Nagar to Hayathnagar Line
The Hyderabad Metro Rail is expanding its network as part of Phase 2 of the city’s metro project. A 7.1-kilometer stretch between LB Nagar and Hayathnagar will soon have six new metro stations, marking a significant step toward improving Hyderabad’s public transportation system.
Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) recently shared details about the proposed stations via a tweet. The new stations will tentatively be named Hayathnagar, Lecturers’ Colony, RTC Colony, Autonagar, Vanasthalipuram, and Chintalkunta. However, HMRL noted that these names and locations could change as plans are finalized.
This expansion is expected to enhance connectivity across Hyderabad, particularly between the city’s north-west and south-east regions. Once completed, the LB Nagar to Hayathnagar stretch will extend the metro network to almost 50 kilometers. Currently, the metro serves two major lines: the Miyapur-Patancheru line (13.4 kilometers) and the Miyapur-LB Nagar line (29 kilometers). With the new addition, commuters will have faster and more convenient travel options.
HMRL highlighted that the ongoing developments under the Hyderabad Metro Project 2025 will make citywide transit more efficient while ensuring better access to key areas. The new routes are poised to significantly reduce travel times and improve overall connectivity within Hyderabad.
Stay tuned for more updates on the Hyderabad Metro Phase 2 as construction progresses on these exciting additions to the city’s transit system.
