The Telangana Drugs Control Administration (DCA) recently raided a medical store in Adilabad. During the raid, officials found an ayurvedic medicine called ‘amla churnam’ being sold with a false claim that it treats diseases of the optical system.
As a result, authorities seized a large stock of this medicine. The product was manufactured by Rinivaa Ayurveda Company, which is based in Chandeeshwari Colony, Mansoorabad, Hyderabad.
A case has been registered, and further investigations are ongoing. The DCA stated that promoting medicines for treating optical diseases violates the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act of 1954.
This law prohibits false or unverified medical claims in advertisements. Officials are taking necessary action to ensure that all medicines follow legal and safety regulations.
