Hyderabad: The Telangana State Innovation Cell (TSIC) is offering a great opportunity for young and enthusiastic innovators. They have launched the ‘Intinta Innovator’ program to scout and recognize innovators who are solving grassroots challenges.
According to TSIC, the deadline to submit innovations for this year’s program is August 10. The selected innovators will have the chance to showcase their innovations at their district’s Independence Day celebrations. To apply, innovators can send their name, address, a six-line description, a two-minute video, or four pictures of their innovation via WhatsApp to 91006-78543.
The TSIC was established to promote a culture of innovation and support rural and grassroots innovation across the 33 districts. Since 2019, they have been organizing the flagship program ‘Intinta Innovator’. The focus of the program is to identify frugal innovations that solve people’s problems.
Shanta Thoutam, Chief Innovation Officer of Telangana, said, “We believe that the culture of innovation should be nurtured from a young age. TSIC has been at the forefront of scouting innovators and transforming their lives for the past four years. We have scouted over 700 innovations so far. We encourage everyone to think outside the box, aspire to solve problems, and showcase their innovations by participating in the program.”
One example of a successful innovator is Arunjyothi S Lokhanday, a homemaker from Nalgonda who was scouted in 2020 at the ‘Intinta Innovator’ exhibition. She came up with the idea of a paper napkin containing seeds from wet waste. She used to have a lot of wet waste from the kitchen every day, which was used for composting but had a strong odor. Her innovation allows the wet waste compost to be used as manure, with the seeds in the paper growing into new plants.
