Hyderabad, December 3, 2024: The fourth batch of Agniveers completed their training at a grand passing-out ceremony held at the Artillery Centre in Hyderabad. Over 2,600 Agniveers, one of the largest groups trained at any regimental center in the Indian Army, successfully finished their training and officially joined the Regiment of Artillery as gunners.
The Agniveers underwent 31 weeks of rigorous training before being assigned to their respective parent artillery regiments. The ceremony included a grand parade attended by military officials, civilian dignitaries, and the families of the Agniveers, celebrating their journey and achievements.
Major General Punit Mehta, the Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Artillery and General Officer Commanding, Jodhpur Sub Area, reviewed the parade. He described the event as marking the beginning of a new era in the Indian Army’s history. He also emphasized the significant role the Agniveers will play in nation-building as they dedicate themselves to serving the country.
The Agniveers showcased their skills and discipline through various performances at the Makhan Singh Stadium. They demonstrated their combat abilities with displays of Malkhamb, martial arts, a torch relay, and a dramatic military symphony. These performances highlighted their talent, commitment, and readiness to face future challenges in the Regiment of Artillery.
The event began with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the War Memorial, where dignitaries paid homage to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation. The passing-out ceremony was a proud milestone for the newly inducted Gunners and a moment of great significance for the Indian Army.
