Hyderabad: The city police have announced a ban on using fireworks that make loud noises during the Deepavali celebrations. This rule applies to bursting high-decibel crackers in public places and on roads.
People are only allowed to burst crackers between 8 pm and 10 pm on Deepavali night. The police reminded the public to follow the Supreme Court’s guidelines about how loud the fireworks can be. They also warned that anyone who breaks these rules will face serious consequences.
Additionally, North Zone Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), S. Rashmi Perumal, said that anyone selling firecrackers must have a proper license.
As of October 26, the Telangana Fire Department has received about 7,000 applications for licenses to sell firecrackers this year. Out of the 6,953 applications submitted, 6,104 have been approved. Officials noted that there were 6,610 applications in 2023 for comparison.
