    Hyderabad Experiences Severe Heat; Anticipated Light Rainfall and Thunderstorms

    Hyderabad recently experienced a severe heatwave, particularly affecting its western regions. The temperatures rose to between 36 and 37 degrees Celsius. Amberpet recorded the highest temperature at 37.8 degrees Celsius. Gachibowli and Kukatpally were not far behind, with temperatures of 37.3 and 37.2 degrees Celsius, respectively. Other areas like Serilingampally, Uppal, Musheerabad, Himayatnagar, Khairatabad, Saidabad, Hayathnagar, Golconda, and Patancheru also faced temperatures above 36 degrees Celsius.

    This kind of weather is common in Hyderabad at the beginning of September. It is a time known for a mix of intense heat and humidity, which often leads to monsoon thunderstorms. Meteorologists expect these weather conditions to continue in the city over the next few days.

    Light rainfall was also reported in various parts of Hyderabad. Khairatabad received 13.3 mm of rain, while Shaikpet got 11.3 mm. Thunderstorms mainly occurred in the western parts of the city, including areas like Golconda, Mehdipatnam, Langer Houz, Shaikpet, and Jubilee Hills.

    In the broader region of Telangana, Siddipet experienced the highest rainfall, with 75 mm recorded.

    The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert. They are warning of thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds ranging from 30 to 40 kmph in several districts, including Hyderabad.

    For the next 48 hours, Hyderabad is expected to have mostly cloudy skies. There is a chance of light rain or thundershowers. Temperatures are predicted to range between a high of 32 degrees Celsius and a low of 24 degrees Celsius. Light winds from the west and northwest are expected at speeds of 8 to 12 kmph.
