Hyderabad Police Officer Suspended for Role in Realtor’s Kidnapping
A Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Hyderabad has been suspended for his alleged involvement in the abduction of a realtor in 2023. The action was taken by Director General of Police (DGP) Jitender after an internal investigation.
The officer in question, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Chand Basha, was serving in the Cybercrime division of Hyderabad Police. Officials say he misused police databases to track the location of realtor Srinivasa Raju. He then allegedly shared this information with the kidnappers.
Based on these details, the kidnappers reportedly abducted Raju from Nagulapally village in Mokila. They then forced him to transfer 30 acres of land at a registration office.
After the incident, Srinivasa Raju filed a police complaint. Investigators arrested the kidnappers and later discovered that ACP Basha had accessed confidential data and passed it to the accused.
As a result, ACP Basha was added to the list of suspects and suspended in the third week of December. A senior official confirmed the suspension and stated that further investigation is ongoing.
