The Cycling Community of Hyderabad wants the city to become more cycling-friendly. To achieve this, they have asked the state government to focus on improving cycling infrastructure and promoting sustainable urban mobility.

The members have submitted a request to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. In their letter, they emphasized the need for dedicated cycling tracks and car-free zones to make the city safer and more accessible for cyclists.

They also proposed the idea of “Active Mobility” as the main mode of transport for short distances. This means encouraging people to walk, cycle, or use public transport instead of private vehicles. Their goal is to make Hyderabad a “#15minscity,” where people can easily reach essential places within 15 minutes.

Additionally, the group pointed out that the city’s existing cycling tracks are not well maintained. They mentioned that cracks appeared on a cycling stretch last month, which shows the need for better upkeep.
