Wine shops in Hyderabad will be closed for two days during the Bonalu festival. City Police Commissioner CV Anand has ordered the closure of bars, clubs, pubs, and wine shops serving alcohol. This decision is meant to prevent any problems during the festival, which takes place every year in the month of Ashada. Those who violate these orders will face strict action, and the police will also take action against individuals causing disturbance while under the influence of alcohol.

In addition, security has been increased around the Mahankali temple due to the high number of devotees. CC cameras have been installed in the area, and surveillance is being conducted from the police command control room.
