Rajeshwari and Rajesh had been having ongoing fights, and things escalated to the point where Rajesh decided to get rid of his wife. On December 10, he convinced her that there was a function in Gandimaisamma area and took her on a bike ride. Instead, he took her to Outer Ring Road near Baurampet and killed her with a stone. He then disposed of her body in a nearby canal.

Two days later, Rajesh called his in-laws and informed them that his wife was missing. Concerned, Rajeshwari’s mother lodged a complaint with the police on December 14. When Rajesh was detained and questioned by the police, the truth came out. The police recovered Rajeshwari’s body and sent it for postmortem examination. Rajesh was arrested and sent to remand.
