Hyderabad: The husband of the woman who died in the Pushpa-2 movie premiere stampede has decided to withdraw the case. This decision comes after actor Allu Arjun was placed in 14-day judicial custody and later granted interim bail.

    M. Bhaskar, whose wife Revathi tragically passed away in the stampede, said he is ready to drop the case. “I was not aware of the arrest, and Allu Arjun has nothing to do with the incident,” Bhaskar stated. He explained that he had taken his son to watch the movie, and the situation was not the actor’s fault.

Bhaskar also criticized the lack of communication from the police. “The police did not inform me about the arrest. I only found out now, and I am prepared to withdraw my case,” he told reporters.

The stampede occurred on December 4 and led to the death of 35-year-old Revathi. Her son, who was injured in the chaos, is still undergoing treatment for his injuries.

Following the incident, the police registered a case against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management. The case was filed under sections 105 and 118(1) 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Chikkadpally police station. Three individuals, including a partner of the theatre, the theatre manager, and the in-charge, were booked and arrested.

In response to the tragedy, Allu Arjun announced financial assistance of Rs 25 lakh for Revathi’s family as a goodwill gesture. The actor also promised to personally meet the grieving family and provide further support. Additionally, he pledged to cover all medical expenses for the boy, who remains in critical condition.
